Product design UX copywriting Interactive prototyping User research Usability testing
Problem
Testers spent too much time manually configuring devices before every session. This created delays, inconsistency, and frustration. Competing platforms had already automated this — we hadn’t.
Target
Our primary users were Cloud Administrators and Project Administrators — the ones responsible for preparing devices and maintaining test environments across teams.
Usability testing
First iteration
All participants were able to locate the Device Setup section quickly. However, usability issues emerged in the configuration dialog: the toggle for app version selection went unnoticed, and users struggled to understand how to choose a specific version.
Outcome - main features
Install applications automatically
Supports selecting apps to be installed before the session — with version control (latest or specific version).
Launch on startup
Allows users to select one application from the configured list to be automatically launched as soon as the session starts.
What I learned
Redesigning the dialog based on user feedback showed how small UI changes in hierarchy and wording can greatly improve clarity and user confidence.
